Get involved
Friday, February 1, 2013
If you ever wanted to be part of town government, but didn’t want to make the commitment of running for an elected seat, you have the opportunity to volunteer to serve on one or more town boards, commissions or committees.
There are several positions available, as shown on Page 8. The Town Council is inviting residents to apply to volunteer on 10 boards, plus three finance positions at town offices. You need to send in a letter of intent and undergo an interview, but, if chosen, you will be able to make a difference in how the town operates.
Whether you’re interested in the Planning Board, the Zoning Board, BCTV, energy and conservation, highway safety, the Historic District, parks and recreation, water and sewer or the town’s cemeteries, it’s worth your time and effort. Get involved. The town needs your input.
