President should get us out of Afghanistan
Thursday, November 5, 2009
To the Editor:
I think the American people have been scammed once again.
While President Obama flies to make a pitch for the Olympics, helicopters over to New York City for “date night” and makes appearances on talk shows, the men and women in uniform are coming home in body bags. The media is reporting that this month has been the deadliest month for our soldiers serving in Afghanistan.
The recent debate in Massachusetts between the four candidates for senator acknowledged that our mission in Afghanistan is complete. If it’s complete, why is he dragging his feet to bring our troops home?
If it is not complete, why is he leaving them there without proper support?
This may be a tough decision, but clearly you opt out of the social events and you have this tough decision to make.
Carrying on the Bush policies of lining the pockets of fraudulent bankers, refusing to shut down Guantanamo and continuing an illegal war leads me to believe, we went from dumb to dumber.
Maybe I’ll ask (Carol) Shea Porter and (Jeanne) Shaheen, if they would ever come out of hiding.
