Program should be kicked out of Bedford schools
Monday, February 22, 2010
To the Editor:
The Bedford School Board refuses to acknowledge that the IBO promotes the United Nations as it is to the United Nation’s mission International Baccalaureate schools must commit. The indisputable evidence is in IBO’s documentation and application process, yet our School Board continues to deny it. We’ve also seen the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which is completely contrary to our U.S. Bill of Rights, being promoted on the local community television station.
IB will mark Earth Day, April 22 (http://communitytheme.ibo.org/eng/post/ib-marks-earth-day-22-april-2010). “Following a resolution in 2009, the UN has now designated 22 April as Mother Earth Day. IB global lessons will be available for Theory of Knowledge in the Diploma programme (also relevant for Ecosystems and Societies, Geography and Biology) …”
Those lessons are based on the UN’s proclamation: (http://www.laht.com/article.asp?ArticleId=342574&CategoryId=14919 ) “The president of the UN General Assembly, Rev. Miguel D’Escoto Brockmann, on Saturday declared Bolivian President Evo Morales as ‘World Hero of Mother Earth’ in a ceremony at the presidential palace in this capital. Besides Morales, the former Cuban head of state Fidel Castro has been named ‘World Hero of Solidarity’ and the late ex-president of Tanzania, Julius Nyerere, will be honored as ‘World Hero of Social Justice.’”
Morales – Socialist.
Castro – Communist.
Nyerere – Socialist.
Many well-informed voters spoke out against this program’s objectionable agenda at our last school board meeting. Do other right-thinking citizens of Bedford, need any more proof that this politically biased “program(me)” that does not respect our Constitution should be removed from every public school, including our Bedford High School?
