Rep. Shea-Porter has independent approach
Wednesday, March 6, 2013
To the Editor:
While having some political differences with our U.S. representative, I was proud to read in a recent article that she is willing to buck the president’s idea for the sequester. President Obama’s sequester plan was included in the August 2011 Budget Control Act. I hope she will join other honorable Congress members and explain this to the public.
To quote Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, “The sequester is a poor attempt to deal with the larger problem, the debt and the deficit.” I admire her independent stand on this issue and her willingness to exhibit nonpartisan action.
I trust she will continue to keep an open mind on future issues and do the best for all New Hampshire residents.
