Hollis concert to benefit veterans, military
Friday, September 20, 2013
NASHUA – Citizens Supporting Warriors will host its first Charity Concert Bash from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at the Alpine Grove Banquet Facility, 19 S. Depot Road, Hollis. The event will honor the sacrifices military members make on a daily basis. All of the net proceeds will be donated to two charities:
Easter Seals New Hampshire Veterans Count, which provides emergency assistance to any U.S. veteran, service member or their family in New Hampshire who is pre-deployed, deployed or has returned from active duty.
K9s for Warriors, which pairs canine service dogs with veterans experiencing post-service trauma, and covers housing and food costs while the veteran undergoes training with his or her new service dog.
The family-friendly concert will feature local bands (the Ballou Brothers Band, the B3 Band, Jesse Rutstein and the Russell Hill Band), free portraits for military personnel, a bounce house, barbecue-style food, a cash bar and a silent auction. The N.H. Military Forces Honor Guard will present the colors and display a firing party with taps sounded.
Donations are sought in addition to auction item donations and event sponsorships.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. In case of rain, the event will be in the Heritage Room.
Tickets are $20 each or $30 for two, and $10 for students with ID. The concert is free for children younger than 12, veterans, active duty, Guard and Reserve with proper ID.
