Friday, September 14, 2012

Angelina Ballerina, a beloved character for close to three decades, is a little star with big dreams of becoming a prima ballerina. Angelina Ballerina will soon share her love of dance with children in southern New Hampshire. Southern NH Dance Theater, located in Bedford, is now an official Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy, joining a growing network of more than 110 studios across North America that offer weekly classes based on the dancing mouseling, star of the Angelina Ballerina book series and animated television program.

The 34-week program is inspired by the CG-animated series airing on PBS KIDS and Sprout, “Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps,” and it will focus on one story a month. Targeted at children ages 3-6, the program teaches beginner ballet at two levels. The Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy curriculum was developed by dance education specialist Beverly Spell, master teacher and author of the Leap ’N Learn program.
