You’re Fired will donate to Sandy Hook fund

As with many people, the Sandy Hook tragedy struck a chord with business woman Ricci Allard.

The business You’re Fired, with Paint Your Own Pottery Studios in Bedford, Concord, Nashua and Salem, will donate all the Children’s Studio fees they collect during the month of January to the “My Sandy Hook Family Fund,” which will help with funerals, ongoing living expenses, food, mortgage payments, daycare, insurance and fuel until the victims’ families are back on solid ground.

Owner Ricci Allard stated “We are as heartbroken as everyone with the horrific event that transpired at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. As You’re Fired is a company totally focused on friends and family interaction, we have decided to take action to provide what little financial help we can to the victims and community of this terrible tragedy.”

The “My Sandy Hook Family Fund” was set up by the parents of children who survived as well as other locals to help with expenses after the shooting.

“Based on previous year’s sales figures, we believe we will raise $4,000 – $5,000 to donate, which will be the largest we have ever made.” Allard continued, “We will also offer to collect additional donations on customer’s behalf, to be sent along to the My Sandy Hook Family Fund in their name as well.”

The fund is attempting to raise $2,600,000 by January 31.

“We have always believed strongly that our studio painting experience can be very therapeutic for customers. We have received many letters and emails from customers who claim the process helped them get through difficult times, both emotional and physical. It is our hope that families come to the studio during the month of January not only to help raise money for the fund, but to also be prompted by the fundraiser, to talk about the tragedy, remember the victims, and share thoughts and prayers for the families,” Allard said.

You’re Fired, established in 2003, operates Paint Your Own Pottery and Mosaics Studios in four southern NH cities, Bedford, Concord, Nashua and Salem.
