‘Old Bags’ to the rescue: A Greater Bedford Womenade event

Friday, March 21, 2014

Greater Bedford Womenade will premier its “Old Bag” Auction from 5:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, at the Bedford Old Town Hall.

Mark your calendars and join in for a fabulous evening among friends and neighbors.

Bargain shoppers looking for a fun tote to freshen up their spring look, and fashion aficionados hunting for a deal on a new or gently used designer bag, are sure to find something perfect at this purse paradise event. For some added fun, shop for wonderful costume jewelry and bid on a gift basket brimming with specialty items. Locally made artisan jewelry by Inner Balance and Sally Rocks will also be featured.

Emcee, Susan Wornick, of WCVB-TV will stir up the excitement at a live bag auction, and entertainer Chad Lamarsh will keep the proceedings lively on his acoustic guitar. Appetizers and wine will be served. A $20 requested donation will be collected at the door.

Greater Bedford Womenade is a nonprofit organization that provides funds to local individuals in crisis who need immediate, short-term financial assistance not available through other resources. Requests remain anonymous and are authenticated by trustworthy sources in the community such as school nurses, counselors, doctors and clergy.
