Summer recreation happenings in Bedford

With summer around the corner, it’s important to find enriching activities to fill your child’s days. The Bedford Parks and Recreation Department has a variety of programs to fill that need.

Camp Witzel summer day camp for boys and girls from ages 6-13 will based at Peter Woodbury School. This is a seven-week theme day camp that includes Thursday field trip and daily visits to the town pool.

The department is also offering specialty camps including Art on Wheels, Mad Science, Let Go Your Mind and Ayr Academy Mountain Bike Summer Camp for youths and adults, as well as a variety of sports camps provided by In The Net Sports Academy, including soccer, tennis, field hockey, football and skateboarding.

New this summer, the department is providing Tween & Teen Get-A-Way mid-week day trips for tween and teens. Trips will include a variety of locations, such as water parks and amusement parks, so please visit for details.
