The Bedford Women’s Club presented the Josephine A. Fearon Scholarship to three high school seniors who are residents of Bedford.
As educator and president of the Bedford Women’s Club in the mid-forties, Mrs. F. Lane Fearon established the Bedford Women’s Club scholarship for high school seniors.
On June 6, Emma Archard, of Bedford, received a Josephine A. Fearon Scholarship at the Senior Dinner held at Bishop Guertin High School.
Archard is one of the three seniors receiving a scholarship from the Women’s Club. She has earned membership in the National Honor Society, the French National Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society.
As a mentor at the Fairgrounds Elementary School, a “buddy” in the Bedford Adaptive Soccer League, and a Peer Minister a Bishop Guertin High School, Archard has demonstrated leadership and community service.
Proficient in several types of dance, she teaches at the Bedford Dance Center. Having deepened her knowledge of the environment through travel, she showed leadership as president of Bishop Guertin’s Environmental Society. She hopes to combine her artistic talents with environmental studies. She will enter Fordham University to major in marketing in the fall.
