Friday, August 29, 2014

BEDFORD – The Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire announced its annual Pet Fair will take place Saturday, Sept. 20 at Derryfield Park in Manchester. This day-long event will kick off with the My Dogs are Barking 5K road race followed by the Pet Step Dog Walk. Bring your canine companion to participate in the run or the walk. Proceeds from the Pet Fair help support the animals at the ARLNH. This rain or shine event promises to be fun, entertaining and a wonderful day to spend with your family and your dog.

Last year, almost 500 runners laced up their sneakers and hit the pavement, many with their four-legged friends, for the 5K. Terry Wiegelman, Director of Major Events at the ARLNH expects even more runners this year. Runners can register at www.rescueleague.org/mydogsarebarking.cfm.

After the race, runners can enjoy some food and visit exhibitor booths. There will be activities as well as raffles and dog demonstrations.

Join the walkers that form fundraising teams to show their support for homeless pets by raising funds and earn great prizes along the way. For information on how to register your team, go to www.rescueleague.org/petstep.cfm.

The ARLNH announce sthe following major sponsors who have committed to the Pet Fair: Bedford Pharmacy, Bellwether Community Credit Union, Daniel Webster Animal Hospital, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Lockridge Animal Hospital and Runner’s Alley.
