SWIMMING. The Manchester swim team completed in the North Country Aquatic Club November Classic in Vermont. In the girls under-10 age group, Noelle Theodoulou took three first-place finishes: 100 and 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Milan Sandhu had a pair of seconds in the boys over-15, 200 and 1,000 free. Riley Ewing finished second in the boys 13/14 200 backstroke. Kelsey Ewing was third in the girls over-15 400 yard individual medley.
• The Manchester swim team competed at Salem State College for a USS Specialty meet and placed three swimmers within the top three. The team also hosted the Senior Distance Development meet at the Southern New Hampshire University pool.

14 100 backstroke. Noelle Theodoulou was a dual winner in the girls 9-10 100 fly and 100 free and was second in the 100 IM. Theodoulou also took first at the distance meet, setting personal records in both the 100 and 200 free.
• The Manchester Swim Team placed a number of swimmers in the medal category at the Exeter Sprints.

10 50 fly and 100 IM. Kelsey Ewing won the girls open 100 fly and the 200 IM while Riley Ewing took the win in the boys 13/14 100 backstroke. Matthew Bolton won the boys open 200 breastroke and placed third in the 200 backstroke. Olivia Neville won the girls under-8 25 free.
Other Bedford swimmers finishing in the top three of this competitive meet include: Kathleen Bolton (second in 100 breaststroke and third in 200 breaststroke and 200 IM); Milan Sandu (third in the 200 fly) and Olivia Wons (third in 100 backstroke).
FOOTBALL. The Bedford Jaguars will hold registration nights for the upcoming season from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 14 and 26 in the McKelvie Middle School cafeteria. Registration for football and cheerleading for boys and girls ages 5-13 will be accepted. For more information, go to www.bedford jaguars.com.
FREE THROWS. The Knights of Columbus will hold a free throw competition for boys and girls ages 10-14 at 1 p.m. on Jan. 17 in the Parish Activity Center at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Bedford. BASEBALL. Registration for Bedford Babe Ruth baseball is now open online. Any Bedford resident 13-16 is eligible. The season starts in May. To register, go to www.bedford baberuth.com.
CLASSICS SOCCER. The New Hampshire Classics Academy soccer has openings for some of its travel teams. The boys’ and girls’ U7 teams, the girls’ U9 team and the boys’ and girls’ U10 teams are looking for players. WALK/RUN. The Souhegan Lions Club will host its 32nd annual New Year’s Day Peanut Butter Chip Chase 5K walk/run road race and kid’s race on Jan. 1 in Temple. The kid’s race will start at 11:30 a.m. on the Town Green, and the 5K road race will start at noon. The certified 5K course runs through scenic Temple. Pre-registration is highly recommended, as the first 120 paid entrants receive an official 5K race T-shirt. Temple residents and kids under the age of 18 can register for $10, and all other runners can register for $12 if the registration is received by Dec. 30. For $15, (or $12 if under the age of 18) entrants may also register the day of the race, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Temple Town Hall on Route 45. AAU TRYOUTS. The Bedford Hustle AAU girls’ basketball team is looking for players for the upcoming season that starts in March. For more information, call 472-4928.
ROCKETTES. The NH Granite State Rockettes U13 AAU girls basketball team are looking to add a post player for the upcoming 2009 season.
