BEDFORD BASKETBALL. The Bedford third-grade girls travel basketball team picked up its first win of the season, defeating Hollis, 35-9. Bedford’s balanced offense was lead by Sarah Cote with eight points. Also scoring for Bedford were Courtney Krause, Emily O’Keefe, Kendi Barnard, Sophia King, Caroline DeLisle, Delaney Flanagan, Brianna Coco, Dariya Steele and Hannah McCarthy, who also lead the defense with 10 steals.

• The Bedford fourth-grade girls travel basketball team won two of three games. Bedford defeated Londonderry, 17-6, behind five points from Mia Roy and four markers from Sadie MacIver. Alyson Fillion played solid on defense. Bedford suffered its first loss of the season in a 16-11 defeat against Auburn. MacIver led Bedford with four points and Lacey Lavigne made several steals. Maddy Graves also added a basket. Bedford bounced back with a 14-9 win over Auburn. Clare Driscoll and Maddy Buffett scored three points each while Quinn Allen had a basket and blocked a shot.

• The Bedford seventh-grade boys travel basketball team won three games to reach the semifinals of the Chester Holiday Tournament. In the opening game, Bedford defeated Chester 55-32 with Ryan Brown (18 points) and Tommy O’Rourke (16 points) leading the way. Matt Gould and Pat Heffernan each contributed six points. In the second game, Bedford beat Hampton 55-45 with Brown (23 points) and Patrick McGinley (17 points) pacing the team. Gould added six points. In the third game, Bedford took the lead from Pelham in the fourth quarter and held on to win 53-47. Brown led the team with 22 points and O’Rourke added nine points. Gould and Nick Barnard had six points each and Duncan Kirkpatrick chipped in with five points.

FOOTBALL. The Bedford Jaguars will hold registration nights for the upcoming season from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 14 and 26 in the McKelvie Middle School cafeteria. Registration for football and cheerleading from boys and girls ages 5 to 13 will be accepted. For more information, go to www.bedford jaguars.com.

FREE THROWS. The Knights of Columbus will hold a free throw competition for boys and girls ages 10 to 14 at 1 p.m. on Jan. 17 in the Parish Activity Center at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Bedford. BASEBALL. Registration for Bedford Babe Ruth baseball is now open online. Any Bedford resident between the ages of 13 and 16 is eligible. The season starts in May. To register, go to bedfordbaberuth.com.

The boys’ and girls’ U7 teams, the girls’ U9 team and the boys’ and girls’ U10 teams are looking for players.
