Recreation Basketball

Middle School: The Lurgio Middle School Boys Basketball team in Bedford is undefeated with only one regular season game left, on Monday, Jan. 25. They will be headed to the state champsionships Feb. 3-6.

Travel Basketball

Fourth grade girls: The fourth-grade girls travel team defeated Londonderry 23-21 on Sunday. Bedford was led by Mia Roy with seven points.

Third grade girls: Bedford beat St. Thomas 15-9 on Saturday. Sunday the girls lost to Windham 20-12 despite scoring from Dariya Steele, Delaney Flanagan, Caroline DeLisle, Courtney Krause and Sarah Cote.

Third grade boys: BJ Laliberte Electric beat NH Motor Speedway 5-4. Lucien Mumpini contributed five points.

• Access EMS defeated EPE Corp., 24-10. Chrisitan Bourgeois and Ryan Toscano led with eight points each.

• DNS Construction bested Bedford Friends of Recreation, 18-10. Noah Hughes led BFOR with 12 points. Jack Sylvain led DNS Construction with six points.

Fourth grade boys: Bellwether Credit Union defeated Accurate Brazing, 26–13. Leading BCU were Jake Boyarsky with 10 points and brother Danny with nine.

• Carrabba’s Italian Grill defeated Pizza Mia, 21-20. Carrabba’s was down by one point with 30 seconds left in the game when Tyler Stone hit the game winning shot. Liam Jackson led Carrabba’s offensive effort with 11 points.

• Rescon Basement Solutions held off Bounce U, 24-17. Tyler Bourgeois, Colton Krasinski and Kyle Drapeau stood out for Rescon. Ishaan Chatterjee had eight points for Bounce U.

• Hearthside Realty persevered to get its first win over Keller Williams Realty, 22-18. Connor Crowley led Hearthside’s offense with 10 points.

Fifth/sixth grade boys: The Celtics got a 47-28 win over Milford Medical Center. Ryan Barnes had with 26 points. Milford Medical Center was paced by Zac Wheeler.

• Active Body Studio beat NAMTEK 30-28 in overtime. Mitchell Roy calmly drained a jump shot with seconds remaining to seal the deal.

• Progressive Energy fell to Bedford Men’s Club, 36-16. Progressive high scorers were Will Myers and Jason Schneider.

• Avalanche Screen Printing outlasted Oztek Corp. in overtime, 24-22. Oztek had strong contributions from David Gaudet and Manny Ray.

• Capital Kitchen & Bath defeated River Road Pediatrics, 23-15. Cory Wallace led CK&B with eight points including a 3- pointer in the second half.

Seventh/eighth grade boys: Spectrum Marketing defeated Opus, 33-20. Spectrum was led by Andrew Penaskovic’s 11. For Opus, Ty Benson led all scorers with 12 points.

• Granite Physiatry defeated Montagne Communications, 36-20. Matt Tetu’s 17 points led all Granite scorers. For Montagne, Andrew Barton had 10.

• Front Row Ticket Agency held on to defeat BVD Maniacs, 26-23. Front Row’s leading scorer was MacKenzie Turgeon with 11 points. BVD’s Devon O’Hare had a strong game with nine points.

• Nixon Peabody had a 38-24 win over MDC Recovery Service. Jeff Graves led the way for Nixon with 10. Marco Santini led a late MDC rally with 13 points.

• BJ Laliberte defeated EconomyCarz.com, 27-17. Andrew Biedermann led BJ with 12 points. EconomyCarz’s Evan Terzian was their leading scorer with six.

• Clifford Sells’ strong second half led them to a win over Rock 101, 27-21. Jimmy Heald led Clifford with seven. Rock 101 got four points each from Kyle Andersson, Scott Daly and Revanth Demerla.

Third/fourth grade girls: New Horizons defeated Precision Letter. 20-15. Leading New Horizons was Mary McGuire with eight points. Anna Ropes led Precision Letter with eight.

• Motor Speedway denied Orion Eagles, 13-9. Leading the victors was Devon O’Hara with eight. Lexi Hawtin led the Eagles with six.

• Groundskeepers Unlimited held off Baldwin & Clarke, 10-8. Aubrey Clark had four points for the winners. Baldwin & Clarke got four points from Veronica Gikas.

• Snip-its rallied by LaBelle Construction, 12-11. Leading the way for Snip-its was Hannah Rinko with six points. LaBelle Construction was led by Cate Withee with six points.

Fifth/sixth grade girls: Late hoops by Abby Edwards and Rachel Philbrick pushed Productions Inc. over Phi Slamma Jamma, 12-10.

• Karolian Realty beat EconomyCarz, 18-12. Sarah Zadei had 10 for the winners. EconomyCarz was led by Maddy Hawtin with four points.

• AutoFair’s beat The Acting Loft, 40-24. Molly Redman had 14 points for AutoFair. Madeline Blake led The Acting Loft with 18 points.

• Soujorn Partners beat Pension Design Services, 27-17. Brie Purcell led all scorers with 19 points.

Seventh/eighth grade girls: MDC Recovery Service defeated Voyager Systems 18-13. MDC’s Chandler Lake led all scorers with 11. Voyager System’s leading scorer was Gabrielle Hunter with seven.

• Hamilton Software defeated Boehm Graham Interiors, 33-16. Katina Smith led the way for Hamilton with eight. Paige Bibbo dropped in eight for Boehm Graham.

• True Blue Cleaners beat iLevel by Weyerhauser, 20-6. True Blue’s leading scorer was Letti Hibbard with eight.

Football

Sign-ups: Bedford Jaguars have added a registration night, Monday, Feb. 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at McKelvie in the cafe, for boys and girls interested in football or cheerleading ages 5-13.

Anniversary: The Bedford Jaguars will hold a 10-year Celebration for all Jaguars present and past on March 27 at the Executive Court. More information can be found at www.bedfordjaguars.org.

Junior Bulldogs online registration: The Bedford Junior Bulldogs Pop Warner and Northeast Jr. High football and cheer programs open online registration for the 2010 season is under way for players and cheerleaders ages 5 to 13. For details, visit www.juniorbulldogs.org.

Soccer

Softball

Bedford Girls Softball League registration: Online registration is now open through March 15 for the upcoming spring season.

Free Softball Skills Clinics & Info Session: Indoor softball skills clinics and information sessions will be held Jan. 31 and Feb. 7, 1 to 3 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton in Bedford.

Interested players born from 1999 to 2004 should attend on Sunday, Jan. 31. Girls born from 1995 to 1998 should attend on Sunday, Feb. 7.

Swimming

Manchester Swim team traveled to MIT’s Zesiger Aquatic Center for a New England meet on Jan. 9-10.

Kelsey Ewing, from Bedford was second in the 13/over 200- yard freestyle (1:57.94) and third in 500-yard freestyle.

Milan Sandhu was fourth in the 200-yard fly, seventh in the 400-yard IM, seventh in the 500-yard free, and 10th in the 100-yard fly.

Matt Bolton placed in the top 10 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 400-yard IM.
