2012 Year in Review

Here are the top sports stores from 2012 in Bedford.
No. 1: Going to Disney
The Bedford Jr. Bulldogs Junior Pee Wee Silver football team won both New Hampshire and New England titles on its way to a Super Bowl appearance.
No. 2: HoSang wins again
For the second-straight year, Bedford’s Mark HoSang won the NHIAA’s singles tournament title, and teamed with McKinley Grimes to win the doubles title. The Bulldogs also won their third straight Division II boys tennis title.
No. 3: Hockey title
The Bedford ice hockey team won the D-II title in its second year in the division, knocking off Dover, the defending champion, in the title game.
No. 4: Runner-up again
For the second straight year, the Bedford football team came in second, this time in D-II against Winnacunnet. In 2011, Bedford lost to Portsmouth in the D-III final.
No. 5: Lacrosse gets first title
After finishing second in 2010, and losing in the semifinals in 2011, Bedford final got its first Division II crown, beating St. Thomas in the final.
No. 6: Streak ended (not pictured)
The Bedford boys soccer team fell to Manchester Central in the D-I semifinals, ending the team’s 38-game unbeaten streak.
City of Champions?
In all, Bedford High School won six team championships in 2012: girls indoor track, boys ice hockey, boys tennis (third in a row), boys lacrosse, boys golf and boys cross country.
The Bulldogs also finished second in several sports in the last year, including: boys basketball, boys and girls swimming, boys and girls outdoor track, football and boys soccer.
