Support Brian Shaughnessy for Town Moderator

To the Editor:

I am writing in support of Brian Shaughnessy for the position of Bedford Town Moderator. The position of moderator is one of integrity and town above self, and I believe Brian would do an excellent job if elected. I have known Brian personally and professionally for more than 15 years and have had the pleasure to serve with him on nonprofit boards over the past 10 years.

As an attorney, Brian brings a wealth of knowledge to the position of moderator and would run the town meetings and elections openly and freely, devoid of any personal agenda. Moreover, he would represent Bedford well in his interactions with not only local officials, but state election officials, as well.

During the past 10 years, Brian has served on the board of directors of the Bedford Basketball League, Bedford Friends of Recreation and The Way Home. He has also coached youth basketball, baseball and soccer teams, as well as been a financial sponsor and contributor to these and other community organizations here in Bedford.

Brian worked hard to raise money for the Timbertown Playground in Bedford a couple of years ago, as well as the Bedford Village Common last year. Presently, he is working on a campaign to raise money for a new playground at Memorial Elementary School here in Bedford. Additionally, Brian and his firm have supported fundraisers for The Bedford Education Foundation, The Mom’s Place at CMC and The Bedford Boosters Club.

I am pleased to be supporting Brian Shaughnessy for Bedford Town Moderator in March.
