Charles Bennie Byers, 79, of Mesa, AZ passed away on July 29, 2011 after a courageous battle against Lewy Body Dementia.
He was born in Springville, IN. He honorably served his country in Korea, Germany and Vietnam for the US Army from 1950-1973 when he retired as a First Sgt.
He was a member of the Masons in Lawton, OK; was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the First United Methodist church of Mesa, AZ.
Survivors include wife Norda of Mesa, AZ; sons, Kenny of Lakeland, FL, Charles of Glendale, AZ, and Robert of Parker, CO; and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at Cypress Estates main hall on Thursday August 11, 2011 at 3pm. A burial will be conducted on the afternoon of April 21, 2012 in Popcorn, IN at the Byers cemetery.
