BASKETBALL

Bedford Boys third-grade

Verizon Wireless Arena defeated Bedford Friends of Recreation 18-6 behind the scoring of Matt Flanagan, Caleb Boulard, Sam Lacombe and Zach Gamache. Jake Davidson, Spencer Hewett and Adam Johnson each scored a basket for Bedford Friends of Recreation.

Daniel Kulesza scored with seconds remaining to lift Flooring Associates to an 18-18 tie with NAMTEK Corp. Michael Pratee, Anthony Zarella and Alexander McDonald each contributed to the offense.

CGI Benefits Group defeated AutoFair Honda 17-7 led by Tegan Graham, Kaden Razvi, Jack Buffett and Raymond Veiga.

Team Lui Lui beat Team Clifford Sells 17-2 behind the explosive offense of TJ O’Connell, Cam Roberts, Aiden Landman and Dan Gagne. Ben Westbrook, Devon Wakelin and Andrew Cotou played tough for Clifford Sells.

Bedford Boys fourth-grade

Valid Media Group lost a shoot-out with Fidelity Investments 28-25. Playing well for VMG was William O’Brian, Matt Kafejelis and Sean Lang. Judah Zdziarski had multiple steals for Fidelity.

Elliott Orthodontics lost a close game to State Farm 11-10. Alex Beekman and Ethan St. Hilare both had great offense for Elliott.

Crawford-Vogel Wenzel Oil defeated Bedford Firefighters 11-6 in a tough game with good defense by both teams. Scoring was lead by Connor Butts, David Manella, Derek Moscillo and Vidhur Kumar.

Bedford Boys fifth- and sixth-grade

Northeast Record Retention retained the victory over Rescon Basement Solutions, 21-18. NRR had second half baskets from Jack Foley, Andrew Genese & Zach Letendre. Rescon had standout performances by Ryan Bleakley, Luke Ramsay and Cristain Castor.

Fidelity Investments continued their winning ways against a tenacious SNS Services Group, 37-16. Rohit Yeram led the offense while Brian Barlotta forced several turnovers for Fidelity.

In the battle of the newspapers, Bedford Journal held off a late push by Bedford Bulletin to secure the win 42-25. Colton Krasinski had a career day for Bedford Journal. Matt Simpson was high scorer for the Bulletin with good defensive play by Brandon Trento.

EPE Corporation edged Surgical Care Group, 22-18. Matt Gilligan led the way for EPE and Connor Fulton while Kyle Demerrit drove the offense for SGC.

Bedford Self Storage defeated Focus on Fitness 28-24 in a game that came down to the last minute. Eric Abdelsayed and Graham Burdon played tough defense while Tim Saltzman led the offense for BSS. Focus was sparked by Jack St. Hilaire while Michael Mullen raised the energy on both ends of the court.

Herlicka Financial Group defeated Screaming Monkeys 37-20.

Bedford Boys high school

The North Carolina State Wolfpack defeated the Scottsdale Community College Fighting Artichokes 62-31 behind James Caparell’s 32 points. The Wolfpack handed the Fighting Artichokes their second straight loss. Caparell was a force in the paint and made seemingly every shot he took, outscoring the entire Artichokes squad by himself. Clay Kirkpatrick also had a positive contribution for the Wolfpack with 10 points. The Fighting Artichokes lacked their three best players, Trevor Fahmy, Jim Heffernan and Matt McKee. The Artichokes got 8 points each from Bryan Howell, Tyler Luca and Demetri Papakostas.

The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks 58-29. The Crimson Tide rolled by the Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks, at one point, leading 34-7. Alabama captains Mark HoSang and Sully Holt outscored the Lumberjacks themselves with 17 points apiece. Mike Harkness also had 11 points. For the Lumberjacks, Andrew Biedermann scored 15 points and Sam Thomas added 8 points.

The Georgetown Hoyas pulled out a 43-34 win over the Webster University Gorlocks. The Hoyas’ Dan Hughes made four 3-pointers along the way to 14 points. Max McKee scored 10 points of his own. The Gorlocks had Roger Larrivee present for the first time this season, but it did not help. He had 13 points, with Dylan Cowette and Mike Gardiner both adding 8.

The Arkansas Hendrix Warriors defeated the CSU-Pueblo Thunderwolves 56-34. The Warriors took advantage of a second-half collapse to remain undefeated. The game was tied at 21 at halftime, but the Warriors never looked back from there. Nate Larrivee had his best game thus far with 16 points. Will Hughes had 13 points and Trevor Maddaus had 9. The Thunderwolves’ leading scorers were Brandon Clark and Tommy O’Rourke with 14 and 12, respectively.

The University of Alaska Seawolves defeated the Southeastern Tennessee Savage Storm 39-27. The Seawolves kept the five-man Savage Storm from winning their first game. Kevin Haynes scored 12 and Kevin Crowell scored 11 points. Captain AJ Spagnuolo added 5 points, as did Gautham Upadrasta. For the Savage Storm, all of their points were split among three scorers. Jordan Garron had 17, Nick Brown scored 6, and Nate Mcaree added 4 points.

The Ohio State Buckeyes scored a 41-34 win over the UC Santa Barbara Banana Slugs. The Buckeyes turned to balanced offensive production to beat the Banana Slugs.

Evan Terzian and A.J. Correia scored 8 points, with Andrew Simpson and Matt Johnston added 6. The Banana Slugs were led by captain Taylor Wallace, who had 19 points. Collin McManus scored 9 points as well in the losing effort. Matt Popham and Anders Holt each had 3 points.

Bedford Girls third- and fourth-grade

TRM Microwave stayed undefeated with an 18-2 victory over Oztek Crop. Emma Rosenbaum had four points; Elizabeth Silha and Nicole Goumas added a basket each. Torrance Ayotte led TRM with 10 points. Chamberlain Bell played a great game and had the lone basket for Oztek.

The Inside Scoop held off a tough NH Orthopedic Center squad, 12-7. Caroline Rankins had a great day on both ends of the court for Inside Scoop, while Emily O’Brien and Emma Chisholm played tough defense and rebounded well in the victory. NH Orthopedic had buckets by Abby Gilligan, Brooke Gould and Elle Monfried in the hard-working loss.

The Crazy Monkeys beat Bedford Hills Care and Rehab 22-10 to remain undefeated. Crazy Monkeys pulled away on a solid team performance by Zoe Michaud, Grace Blais and Mary Elizabeth Provost. Bedford Hills had great hustle and defense by Ava Gaudette and Paige Letzelter.

Bedford Girls fifth- and sixth-grade

Precision Letter and YLM battled back and forth including an overtime, which ended in a 15-15 tie. Strong defense from Ella DiTomasoo and Erin Beaudoin for YLM kept them in the game while the offense was provided by Cate Withee’s 6 points and Tia Singleton’s 4 points. Molly Elrick who had a game high 9 points led Precision Letter on offense. Maeve Parnell and Grace Silha played solid defense.

NH Motor Speedway received its first lost against Active Body Studio 12-10. Mary Maguire and Erica Gettings led Active Body Study on offense with 4 points each while Chloe Adams and Hope Lang played good aggressive defense. Shannon Bolser and Anna Ropes anchored NH Motor Speedway on defense with Lexi Hawtin leading the scoring with 4 points.

In a high-scoring game, Bedford Self-Storage beat undefeated Groundskeepers Unlimited 25-14. Bedford Self-Storage had several players scoring with Corrie LaBelle leading the way with 8 and Devon O’Hara contributing 6 points. Brooke Burdon led Groundskeepers Unlimited with 6 points and Veronica Gikas scored 4.

Bedford Girls seventh- and eighth-grade

Arbors of Bedford started quickly offensively with Maya Ashooh and Louisa Berman and never looked back, winning 27-10. Brigitt Widrig led Arbors with 8 and Abby Peters added 4 points. BARC Rachel Wells finished with 4 points while Lily Heald and Isabelle Clark each had 2 points.

Rock 101 stayed undefeated with a 23 17 victory or Sojourn Partners. Caroline Brodeur had 8 points in the victory. Madison Sullivan netted 5 for the Rock 101 while Zoe Graham had a great defensive game. Madisyn Simpson led Sojourn Partners with 6 points. Natalie Laurendeau and Morgan Jonas contributed offensively including a 3 pointer from Jonas.

Pension Design’s comeback fell short in a 27-24 loss to Phil Slamma Jamma. Rachel Laririvee and Elizabeth Mailhot each had 6 points for Pension Design. Meghan Foley and Char Leyden led Phi Slamma Jamma offensively while Kira Fahmy and Anitha Machupalli led the defense.
