Spaulding was on a 5-on-3 power play in the final minutes of Division II action Thursday night against Bedford, but gave up the deciding goal with about four minutes to play in a 3-2 loss. Bedford, which had lost to the Red Raiders 5-1 in the Bauer Holiday Tournament, improved to 4-2.

Jan. 12: Bedford 7, Spaulding 1 (junior varsity)

The Bulldogs picked up their 10th win of the season by beating the Red Raiders. The first period was close, with only a single tally for the Bulldogs, coming from a Nate Boyd for a power play goal, which was assisted by Harrison Voloshin. But in the second period, Bedford did a lot of damage. Five goals blew the game open. Scoring for Bedford were Andrew Connelly, Voloshin (two) and Brett Veilleux (two). Tyler Murray was the only Bulldog to ring the bell in the final frame. Providing assists were Jeremy Myers, Chris Shaughnessy, Chris Briggs and Matt Sarro. Solid defense from Bedford kept the Red Raiders mostly off the scoreboard.
