MILFORD – Summers in New Hampshire are often thought of longingly as a time for burgers, hot dogs, barbecue, ice cream and, of course, lobsters.
Luckily the Pasta Loft, located at 241 Union Square on the Milford Oval, is currently offering their annual triple lobster dinner for $22.95. The dinner comes complete with soup, salad, a choice of side, homemade bread and the three fresh lobsters supplied by Taylor Lobster Co. in Kittery, Maine.
This is the Pasta Loft’s seventh year offering their triple lobster dinner, which typically runs throughout the summer. According to Terry Connor, owner of the Pasta Loft, the restaurant is going through about 1,000 lobsters each week. Connor estimates that 90 percent of the lobsters are coming fresh off the boat.
Connor said the popular lobster dinner began as a way “just to get people in the door.” However, the Pasta Loft is always trying to grow and change.
“We’re always trying to reinvent,” he said.
One new way the restaurant is transforming is by opening a new function room. The Loft Event Center and Music Hall is slated to be open by Columbus Day and will be able to accommodate approximately 100 people. The new function room will primarily be used for live music shows.
Additionally, the Pasta Loft is adding a walk-up window to the back of the restaurant, which will sell fried dough, homemade pizza and roast beef sandwiches all year long – even when the harsh winter snows come rolling in.
“We never close at the Loft,” Connor said, laughing.
From the new function room to the walk-up window to the current triple lobster dinner special, the Pasta Loft in Milford likes to keep things enticing, to keep the customers coming back for more.
“It’s all about … Keeping it fresh,” Connor said.
