Mannino, Willette and Halstead for schools Board
Wednesday, March 3, 2010
To the Editor:
I understand it is expensive to educate a child. I also don’t mind paying for something if it is a quality product. What I do object to is shelling out thousands of dollars of property taxes each year on education that continues to sink to some of the lowest in the region. It’s time to stop the madness! The Milford school budget is a prime example of how more money does not buy better education. The school budget has gone up every year, while an article in the Cabinet just a few weeks ago indicated that Milford students’ assessment test scores have fallen to be among the lowest in the region. We need to put people on the School Board who understand this concept and will work to rebuild the quality of the education Milford gives our children. Fortunately, there are three individuals running for the School Board that understand this concept and are committed to working toward giving our children the quality of education that is necessary to succeed in today’s world. On March 9 I will vote for Len Mannino, Robert Willette and Carolyn Halstead for School Board. I encourage you to do the same.
