One felony was dismissed in attempted strangling incident in Lyndeborough

LYNDEBOROUGH – Two years ago, Donald J. Lorvig, of Holt Road, was charged with second degree assault and simple assault after police said he tried to strangle his wife.

Milford Circuit Court Judge Martha Crocker said both charges were Class B felonies because they involved strangulation.

In Hillsborough County Superior Court last May, Judge Gillian Abramson reduced the first charge to a misdemeanor, and in June, the charge of simple assault was dismissed.

Lorvig was sentenced to 12 months in the Hillsborough County House of Corrections, with all but 51 days suspended.

Lorvig, now 52, was arrested after an argument in his home on April 6, 2011.
