Pancake breakfast to benefit Melanoma Foundation
Wednesday, March 10, 2010
AMHERST – Members of Team Earley, named for the local family that turned their battle against cancer into awareness and fundraising campaigns, is hosting its second annual Melanoma Foundation of New England pancake breakfast benefit Sunday, March 14.
Admission to the breakfast, which runs from 7-11 a.m. at Souhegan High School, is $5 per person, and free for children age 5 and younger.
Team Earley, whose members run the Boston Marathon as part of the larger MFNE team, is anchored by Amherst resident Greg Earley. His wife, Kathy, was training for a breast cancer benefit Triathlon nearly three years ago when she was diagnosed with stage III melanoma during a routine physical.
The team is also raffling a one-of-a-kind Adirondack chair, created by artist Tracy Tobin, signed by marathoner Bill Rogers and featuring historic landmarks along the Boston Marathon route, to raise funds for the foundation.
For donations to Team Earley and for more information on the breakfast, visit www.firstgiving.com/gregoryearley or Team Earley on Facebook.
For raffle tickets, which are $5 each or 5 for $20, contact Team Earley, P.O. Box 86, Amherst, 03031, or contact Greg Earley at gregory.earley@inxi.com or 320-1110.
