MILFORD – Pauline “Polly” Watson died Dec. 13, 2009, at Crestwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Milford.
She was born in Enfield on Nov. 21, 1927, the daughter of Ward and Lucy (Judd) Neily. She graduated from Canaan High School and attended Plymouth Teachers College.
She was the widow of Earl “Shorty” “Midge” Watson, whom she married Feb. 15, 1947. They had shared 50 years of marriage prior to his death on July 6, 1997.
Mrs. Watson was a charter member of TOPS NH No. 30, Milford, and a member of AARP No. 1235, Milford. During her later years, she knitted hats and mittens for area schoolchildren. She also crocheted and knitted lap robes for the elderly.
She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Neily, and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Watson.
Family members include two sons, Lester E. Watson of Lyndeborough and Gordon A. Watson of Manchester; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Glenna Neily of Hanover, Charles and Nancy Neily, Elwin and Cindy Neily, and Priscilla Neily, all of Canaan; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Edith Smith and Mabel Watson of Massachusetts, and Charles and Barbara Watson of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
A visiting hour was held on Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. in Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm St., Milford, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. To leave an online condolence, go to www.smith-heald.com.
