AMHERST – Arline P. Grassett, 92, died Jan. 6, 2010, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua, after a brief illness.

She was born in Greenfield on July 5, 1917, a daughter of the late Arvilla Fiske and Raymond Perham.

She moved to Amherst in early 1922 as the stepdaughter of the late Robert P. Bryant and graduated from Amherst High School in 1935.

Her greatest pleasures in life were enjoying her family and her home, where she lived for 60 years.

Mrs. Grassett was predeceased by her husband, George C. Grassett, who died in October 1981; a sister, Olive Bullard; and a brother, Charles Bryant.

Family members include four sons and their wives, Gary and Charlotte Grassett, of Indiantown, Fla., Gerald and Gwyn Grassett, of Amherst, Glenn and Pauline Grassett, of Barrington, and George and Gail Grassett, of Brookline; two granddaughters; five grandsons; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Coleman, of Chino Valley, Ariz., Jane Locicero, of Nashua, and Cynthia Byrd, of Milford.

There are no visiting hours. A memorial service was held on Saturday, Jan. 9, at 10 am in The Congregational Church of Amherst, 11 Church St., Amherst, followed by a reception in the Community Room. Burial will be in Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst, in the spring.
