Rosa Lee Ackerson, 72 of Merrimack, NH died Monday Feb. 1, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua after a long illness.

She was born in Hickory, NC on Jan. 3, 1938 a daughter of the late Oscar S. and Lizzie (Lefevers) Ates.

Before retirement, she was employed at Massachusetts Mutual Insurance, and in her early years was a teacher.

Members of her family include her husband Robert D. Ackerson of Merrimack, two sons, Thomas Ackerson of Manchester, Todd Ackerson of Merrimack, two daughters, Wendy Hebert of Candia, and Cheryl Ackerson of Lyndeborough, nine grandchildren, a sister Virginia Hannah, a special nephew Wayne Hannah, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are in the George R. Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, NH Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A private funeral service will be held in the funeral home.
