Peterborough ‘Deck the Poles’ winners named

PETERBOROUGH – The Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of its first “Deck the Poles” contest: Most Creative, Monadnock International Film Festival, in front of Peterborough Diner, and Most Festive, School Kids in Peterborough, in front of People’s United Bank, on Main Street.
Both were recipients of generous donations from prize sponsors Budget Blinds, of Keene, and PeopleSense Consulting.
In addition to MONIFF and SKIP, other entrants in the contest, who decorated downtown posts and poles in holiday themes, were Mariposa Museum & World Culture Center, Monadnock Center for History and Culture, Monadnock Community Early Learning Center, PeopleSense Consulting, Roy’s Markets/Maggie’s Market, SDE (Staff Development for Educators) and Steele’s Stationers.
The “celebrity” judging panel was composed of Laura Keith King, professional artist and board chair of MAPS; Joanne McGovern, People’s United Bank; Barbara Miller, Peterborough selectman; Larry Sportello, Budget Blinds, of Keene; and George Sterling, Sterling Business Center.
