Milford Area Players present ‘Beyond Therapy’

MILFORD – Milford Area Players, winner of the 2013, 2011 and 2009 New Hampshire Theatre award for Best Production in Drama/Comedy for Community Theatre, is proud to present the comedy gem “Beyond Therapy” by Christopher Durang at the Amato Center for the Performing Arts, 56 Mont Vernon St., from March 21-30.

Bruce and Prudence are deeply into therapy. Prudence’s macho therapist is urging her to be more assertive while Bruce’s wacky female therapist wants him to meet women by placing a personal ad. She does not fully comprehend that Bruce has a male lover who is not pleased by Bruce’s desire to date a woman: Prudence. Eventually, Bruce and Prudence learn to live beyond therapy in this delightful Off Broadway hit that moved successfully to Broadway.

The cast of “Beyond Therapy” includes Tim Lord, of Brookline, Amy Agostino, of Londonderry, Gary Trahan, of Manchester, and Sara Fagan, Mitch Fortier and Kevin Linkroum, of Nashua. The play is directed by Vick Bennison, of Amherst.

Beyond Therapy will be staged by the Milford Area Players from March 21-30, with shows at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. General admission tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for seniors (60 and older) and students. Advance tickets are available at Toadstool Bookshop and online at Tickets also available at the door. The theater is wheelchair accessible.
