WILTON – The Wilton-Lyndeborough Elementary School February Students of the Month are both first graders, Katelyn Geary of Lyndeborough Central and Brodie Desmarais of Florence Rideout. They were presented certificates and gifts by Principal Tim O’Connell at the beginning of the regular meeting of the school board on March 18.
Of Katelyn, her teacher Julie Lemire said, “Katelyn has done an outstanding job in our classroom this year. She works really well with all the students in our class and displays a positive attitude for learning. She can be counted on to model our classroom rules and be a ‘go to’ person if someone needs help. She is focused, kind, and has a great sense of humor.
Brodie’s teacher, Rebecca Sanborn, wrote in her nomination, “It is with honor that I nominate Brodie Desmarais for Student of the Month for first grade. Brodie is a leader in the classroom and outside the classroom. Students gravitate toward him because he is kind, friendly, and welcoming to everyone. He often sets the example in the classroom. He is cooperative, on task, and attentive to details.
“Brodie always sets forth his best effort whether he is working on writing, reading or math. He is always willing to help a friend or neighbor in need, whether it is a math question or opening an item at snack. He brings lively and thoughtful discussion to class conversations.”
