Hollis Brookline Rotary Club hosts 10th annual Hollis Fast 5K Run on June 12

Friday, April 18, 2014

HOLLIS – The 10th annual Hollis Fast 5K is set for a 6:30 p.m. start from the Hollis Brookline Middle School on Thursday, June 12.

Northeast Delta Dental agreed to be title sponsor for the third consecutive year.

The Hollis Brookline Rotary Club offers a free entry to next year’s race if a runner beats the New Hampshire state record for their individual age. Free invitations were recently sent out to 73 runners who beat the New Hampshire state 5K record for their individual age in 2013. The race times do not qualify as an official record because the race course drops 224 feet from start to finish; however, it does entitle a runner to a free race entry the next year. Every year, runners are one year older and therefore must beat a new age record to receive a free entry.

Online registration is open for 2014. Visit www.hollisfast5k.com to register or to get all the race details. The first 800 runners to sign up will receive a free commemorative technical T-shirt.

This year, there’s a cut off of 1,700 runners. The June 2013 USATF-NE 5K Championship race hosted 1,400 finishers from Hollis, Nashua, Brookline Merrimack, Amherst in New Hampshire and from 15 other states.
