PLUS Company prepares for 22nd annual Wild Irish Breakfast

Thursday, March 7, 2013

NASHUA – The PLUS Company is proud to continue its long-running tradition of providing a fun way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day while raising funds for a cause.

The 22nd annual Wild Irish Breakfast will be held Friday, March 15 at The Radisson Hotel Nashua beginning at 7:30 a.m. This event continues to be one of the largest and longest running St. Patrick’s Day events in New England.

The event celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with good humor, some jesting and an opportunity to make a difference in the community.

The public, agency supporters, politicians and pundits all trade barbs, enjoy a bountiful breakfast, and raise funds for The PLUS Company, a nonprofit agency empowering individuals with developmental disabilities by providing services and supports designed to maximizing individuals’ levels of independence.

Previous speakers of the event have included Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, and hockey legend Rick Middleton. This year’s speaker list is guaranteed to continue the time-honored tradition of including state and local politicians who are comfortable taking shots at their colleagues from both sides of the isle.

For information, including purchasing tickets and sponsorship opportunities, contact Cynthia Andreola at candreola@pluscompany.org or phone 889-0652. Can’t make the breakfast, but still want to get involved?

Try your luck and support the PLUS Company by purchasing a Wild Irish Breakfast raffle ticket.

Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10. You can buy your tickets from any Special Olympics’ PLUS Pride athlete, a Wild Irish Breakfast committee member, or just stop by The PLUS Company at 19 Chestnut St. in Nashua, or phone 889-0652. Tickets will also be available at the breakfast.

Top raffle prize is a Trip for Two to Ireland. Other prizes include two round-trip Southwest Airline tickets and a Trek 3500 Mountain Bike, four tickets to the July 14th NASCAR race, and two Boston Celtics tickets to the April 5th game.

All money raised funds the Adult Education Programs offered to the 350 adults served by The PLUS Company. The classes which range from literacy and computers skills to yoga and quilting offer individuals the opportunity to learn new skills, socialize and become more independent.

All funds for education are raised through the generosity of the community, events such as the Wild Irish Breakfast, and grants.
