MILFORD

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Jan. 7: Milford 54,
Manchester West 9

The host Spartans (3-0) allowed only two Blue Knights to reach the scoring column as Jess Ryan led the way with 15 points and Jen Dupuis added seven. Milford jumped out to a 17-3 lead in the opening quarter and West (0-4) managed just one point in the second half.

SWIMMING

Jan. 5: Milford swims well

The Spartans boys and girls teams competed in a seven-team meet. The boys went 3-1 with wins over Pelham (70-60), Nashua South (85-54), Laconia (101-9) and a loss to Winnacunnet (90-69). The girls were 4-3, beating Winnisquam (98-13), Wilton-Lyndeborough (93-25), Pelham (77-44) and Laconia (92-19), while falling to Winnacunnet (98-58), Windham (120-46) and South (88-61).

Zoe Daudier win the 100 freestyle and was fourth in the 200 IM, qualifying for the division meet in both events, while Kaitlyn McManus won the 200 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke, also qualifying in both events. Jordanne Letarte, Julia Anderson and James Halstead also swam well for the Spartans.

WRESTLING

Jan. 4: Milford 36,
Foxboro 32; Milford, Mass. 34, Milford 30;
Framingham 50, Milford 18; Dracut 39, Milford 36

The Milford wrestling team was able to pull off a big win over Foxboro, Massachusetts, but dropped their other three matches at the DeMeo Duals in Nashoba. J.T. Bellantoni won all four of his matches, while teammate Jake Ricca went a perfect 3-0. Scott Dannewitz also wrestled well, finishing 2-1.

Jan. 7: Souhegan 47,
Oyster River 29

The Sabers improved to 4-0 thanks to 11 points from Jamie King and good defense and rebounding by Emily Gaukstern and Cammie Lavertu. Mickenzie Larivee added eight points for the locals.
