LACROSSE
Curro joining Team USA in Orlando
Amherst’s McKinley Curro and Granite State Elite Lacrosse teammates Katy Fitzgerald and Sarah Dalton will be making the trip from their practice facility – the Hampshire Dome – in Milford to Orlando, Fla.
The GSE trio will join the United States team at the Champions Challenge at the Wide World of Sports Complex down in the Sunshine State.
Curro was the high scorer for the first challenge game. Both the men’s and women’s teams went undefeated during that stretch. Team USA won the World Cup this past summer in Prague, Czech Republic, and the next World Cup isn’t until 2013.
Amherst Lacrosse Club holding equipment swap
The Amherst Lacrosse Club will hold its first equipment swap on Thursday, Feb. 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the Amherst Middle School.
If your children have outgrown their lacrosse equipment, or you have children that are new to the sport and looking for affordable, used equipment this swap is the way to go.
To donate your equipment, stop by the Amherst Middle School or Souhegan High School until Feb. 8 and leave your equipment in the designated box outside the main office. You can also e-mail laxnight@comcast.net to arrange a pick-up time.
COACHING
NHBCA Coaching Clinic set for Feb. 14
The New Hampshire High School Baseball Coaches Association is holding its annual Coaching Clinic on Sunday, Feb. 14 at Souhegan High School in Amherst. Registration runs from 8-9 a.m.
The six sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be conducted by regional college coaches. There will also be a rules meeting with a rules interpreter.
Milford High School has two spring openings
Milford High School athletic department currently has two openings for spring coaches: Varsity girls tennis and outdoor track and field throwing coach. All interested candidates should send a letter of interest, resume, and three letters of reference to Marc Maurais, A.D. 100 West St., Milford, NH 03055.
Merrimack in search of boys lacrosse coach
Merrimack High School has the following coaching opening for the spring season: Boys varsity lacrosse coach (spring season). All interested applicants should contact Andy Krahling, Director of Athletics, Merrimack High School, 38 McElwain St., Merrimack, NH 03054.

RAFFLE
Win Patriots tickets for five games
The Academy of Notre Dame will raffle off two tickets to five New England Patriots games for the 2010 season.
Tickets are on sale now for just $10 each through the Office of Institutional Advancement at the Academy of Notre Dame, 180 Middlesex Road, Tyngsborough, MA 01879. The raffle runs through June 21.

Southern NH Beavers ready for fifth season
The Southern New Hampshire Beavers semi-pro football team is entering its fifth season with the New England Football League.
Registration for the 2010 season will be held Feb. 13 from noon-2 p.m. at the Hampshire Dome in Milford. Interested players (18 and older) can visit www.snhbeavers.com and fill out a contact form or contact head coach Todd Harvey at 321-0795.
