SWIMMING
Seawolves in tournament
The Hampshire Hills Seawolves competed in the Granite State Swimming Association Championship on the weekend of Aug. 7-8 at the Jenny Thompson Pool in Dover. Bringing 25 swimmers to the meet, the team competed against teams almost twice their size and managed a fifth place showing in Division 3. The team posted 50 percent best times at the meet. The following swimmers won their events:
Kaitlyn McManus (Milford): 100 Breast, 200 Free, and 200 IM
Christine Black (Amherst): 100 Breast
9 & 10 Boys 200 Medley Relay & Free Relay: Nick Jordan (Amherst), Aidan Daudier (Milford), Connor Donoghue (Amherst), and Alex Meagher (Brookline).
The Seawolves practice at Hampshire Hills Sport & Fitness Club in Milford. They will begin their next season the third week in September.
Delage at Harvard swim
Casey Delage of Milford competed in the 2010 New England Open Long Course Championships at Harvard University over the weekend of July 29-Aug. 1. The competition is the highest held inside New England. Representing the Executive Swim Club in Manchester, Delage competed in the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relays with his Executive teammates from throughout New Hampshire. In the Freestyle Relay, he led off with a personal best time of almost one full second. Delage, 17, is entering his senior year at Milford High School.

Club hosts rally for cure
Monadnock Indoor Tennis Club of Peterborough is hosting a Rally for the Cure Men’s and Women’s Doubles Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 25, starting at 10:30 a.m. Rally for the Cure is a grassroots program to spread awareness about breast health and breast cancer in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure through volunteer organized golf, tennis and social events. More than 1.65 million people have participated in Rally for the Cure events across the nation since its inception in 1996.
The public is invited. The day’s activities will offer a doubles tournament with refreshments and light fare. Participants may register on the MITC website: www. mitconline.org. Cost per entrant is $20.
The mission of Rally for the Cure is to empower people to join the fight against breast cancer by providing a platform for them to educate their family, friends and community on the importance of early detection through an activity they are passionate about.

Registration open
Amherst Soccer Club is now taking registrations for boys and girls ages 3 to 5 for this coming fall Tots Soccer Program. The program will be held Wednesdays for four weeks at Souhegan High School. For more information go to www.amherstsoccer club.com and click on the tots program.
