Wait ... what?
Thursday, February 2, 2012
This is from the blog of the Weekly Standard last week: It seems there is room for another candidate ... to make a late entry into the Republican primary field. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 34 percent likely U.S. voters think it would be good for Republicans if another candidate entered the race for the party’s presidential nomination. But nearly as many (31 percent) say it would be bad for the party, while 24 percent believe it would have no impact. Twelve percent are not sure. What the Weekly Standard finds most important is “33 percent of GOP Voters Say It Would Be Good If New Candidate Entered Presidential Race.”
It’s a bit confusing, isn’t it? Do they want a new candidate or don’t they? The Standard seems to like Mitch Daniels and/or Bobby Jindal but ... These numbers seem strange.
Any thoughts, dear readers? Would you like a different candidate, a non-Mitt, a non-Newt?
