Enjoy the sounds of the season at area concerts
Wednesday, December 7, 2011
To the Editor:
I want to inform all of your readers of some of the wonderful holiday musical programs that are happening during the remainder of the Christmas season. There are many more, these are just the ones that I am performing in, and I want to share the music with others.
• The Hollis Town Band and Christmas Chorus will present their annual holiday music program on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Hollis-Brookline High School. Most of the band music is new this year (and it is great!), and there are more selections with the chorus and band combination this year than ever before. Included are the “Night Before Christmas,” the “Hallelujah Chorus,” and the annual sing-along. This is one concert you don’t want to miss. Admission: at least one non-perishable food item.
• The Temple Band is presenting its holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Temple Elementary School. This is another very enjoyable concert. Free.
• The Souhegan Valley Chorus holiday concert will be presented on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 6 p.m. at Souhegan High School, in Amherst. This is always an enjoyable concert, and this year will feature the Merrimack Valley Bell Ringers. Admission $10-$15 (children under 13 free).
• The Milford Methodist Church will present an all-church concert on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. at the church on North River Road, Milford. Scheduled to perform are the church band, both the junior and adult handbell choirs, the sacred dancers, and the chancel choir. This is a great way to spend Christmas Sunday evening! Free.
There you have it: four really enjoyable music performances for your holiday listening pleasure. I hope to see everyone there.
