Galinson announces plan to run
Wednesday, February 15, 2012
To the Editing:
It is with a heartfelt pride in our town that I decide to run for re-election to the Board of Selectmen.
I served on the Board of Selectmen from 2007-2010 and then helped finish the budget this year by filling the vacant seat of incoming Town Administrator James O’Mara. I love this town of Amherst and offer my service in continuing to work for its citizens.
I like to think that my previous experience as a selectman allows me the insight, wisdom, and relationships to get things done. The town currently faces many complex issues including managing its buildings and roads while keeping taxes from skyrocketing and managing smart economic development for industrial and residential growth while maintaining Amherst’s “rural” feel. It is important for its board members to have experience serving the town in order to understand the issues and take actions based on that knowledge.
My individual expertise lies in the finance and budget areas with experience in buying, growing, and selling companies on Wall Street and Main Street. I have an MBA from Harvard University and I am not afraid of hard work. I think I complement our existing board members with these strengths.
I believe firmly in fiscal constraint and transparency in government. I am independently conservative in nature and push for efficiency in government.
I look forward to seeing you at the polls on March 13 and seek your support. Please call or email me with your thoughts or concerns at 673-7375 or brad@galinson.com. I have plenty of signs if you are so inclined to support my candidacy in such a manner.
BRAD GALINSON
