Town’s proposed budget up over ’09
Thursday, February 4, 2010
LYNDEBOROUGH – The town’s operating budget for 2010 is estimated at $1.53 million, an increase of about 3.4 percent over 2009, according to Town Administrator Jim Bingham.
The proposed budget will be presented at a public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, in Citizens’ Hall.
The budget won’t be completed until after the hearing.
All voters are invited to attend and ask questions.
Increases in the budget are attributed to state-required retirement contributions and health insurance, which is up 15.8 percent; repairs to Town Hall; and a change to “fee for service” for ambulance calls.
The town is required to conduct a property revaluation this year, a one-year increase in the budget.
The cost of proposed warrant articles – $202,350 – is down about 30 percent from 2009, when it was $290,015.
