Business wins Japanese award
Thursday, November 25, 2010
MILFORD – Japan’s trade ministry has awarded AdaptivCOOL and its Japanese partner a green IT award.
AdaptivCOOL, a division of Degree Controls Inc., received the Green IT Award for Saving in IT-related Energy Consumption by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry through its Japanese partner, Yamatake Corp.
AdaptivCOOL’s technology was recognized for its ability to improve the efficiency of a data center by cutting energy consumption and operational costs.
Data centers around the world have become one of the biggest consumers of power, and a system offered by AdaptivCOOL reduces the energy consumed to cool a data center on average of 30 percent.
The system, called Demand Based Cooling, achieves this through a patented airflow management methodology, which is able to locate hotspots in data centers and target individual racks for cooling.
