Energy workshops planned in Amherst
Thursday, February 2, 2012
AMHERST – Weatherizing homes seems pretty straightforward, but there are lots of tricks and twists that homeowners can use to cut energy costs.
Two free workshops titled “Button Up NH,” are being scheduled in upcoming weeks to teach these methods.
The first, covering basic information and skills, will be held Thursday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Amherst Town Library, at Main St., Amherst.
The session, which will last less than two hours, is designed to teach “simple steps” to save energy and make a home more comfortable, give a guide to follow-up moves, and information about technical and financial resources.
It will be taught by a certified energy auditor, under the auspices of My Energy Plan, a joint program of UNH, Clean Air Cool Planet, and the New Hampshire Sustainable Energy Association, with help from the state Office of Energy and Planning,
The second workshop will be held a week later, on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 3 p.m. at the UNH Cooper Extension office at 329 Mast Road, Goffstown.
