Amherst man faces assault charges
Wednesday, February 1, 2012
AMHERST – A 51-year-old local man arrested in December in connection with several incidents of alleged sexual assault dating to 2008 is scheduled to appear in Milford district court on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. for a probable cause hearing.
Karl C. Hansen, of 8 The Flume, waived a late-December arraignment and remains free on $500 personal recognizance bail, according to court documents.
He is accused of assaulting a then 13-year-old girl on four occasions – twice in June 2008 and twice in September 2008 – according to the arrest report. All are Class A misdemeanors.
The incidents reportedly took place at Hansen’s home.
He listed his occupation as self-employed consultant.
Though the alleged incidents took place three-and-a-half years ago, Lyon said, they were only recently reported to police, who arrested Hansen shortly after.
Hansen has been ordered to stay away from the alleged victim and members of her family.
