Police drop rape charge against Milford man
Wednesday, February 8, 2012
MILFORD – County and local authorities have decided to drop sexual assault charges filed against a Milford man last summer.
The case stems from June 17, 2011, when police charged Gregory Symons, 21, of 98 Powers St., Apt. 237 with aggravated felonious sexual assault against his former girlfriend.
Charges were “nolle prossed,” said Police Chief Fred Douglas. Based on further investigation, he and Milford Police Prosecutor Michael McCall determined there was “no corroborating evidence suggesting a crime had been committed,” said the chief.
As a result the county attorney’s office and Milford police decided together charges should not go forward, he said.
