Hawkins named state’s top runner

Courtney Hawkins, a junior at Milford High School, was named the Gatorade New Hampshire Girls Cross Country runner of the year. The 5-foot-1 Hawkins won the Meet of Champions individual title with a time of 18 minutes, 34.1 seconds, and finished 13th in the New England Championships and was 30th at the FootLocker Northeast Regional. Hawkins took first at the Manchester Inivitational in the large school division. She has a 3.71 grade point average and is a member of the National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society. She’s also involved with local charities.
