Commission urges ‘no’ vote on Article 6
Friday, March 5, 2010
To the Editor:
On Tuesday, March 9, residents of Hollis will vote on the Planning Board Ballot, which proposes a number of amendments to the Hollis Zoning Ordinance. One of these, Article 6, has the potential to significantly impact the quality of our drinking water. Passage of Article 6 would allow animal waste and other composting materials to be deposited and stored on land in the Aquifer Protection Overlay Zone. Composting facilities are currently prohibited in this zone. The Hollis Conservation Commission’s mission is to protect our natural resources, including our aquifers and waterways.
The Commission urges you to vote no on Article 6.
TOM DUFRESNE
Chairman
