BROOKLINE – The seventh annual Jordan’s Walk for Wishes and Dash for Dreams will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28.
The event is a 5k run and/or walk in memory of Jordan Coffey, son of Sharon and David Coffey and brother of Amanda Coffey and Devon Coffey, who lost his battle with brain cancer on Sept. 10, 2005.
The course begins and ends at Richard Maghakian Memorial School, 22 Milford St., Route 130. The course winds through the center of Brookline and takes runners and walkers down picturesque Main Street past historic buildings, including Town Hall, the Brookline Community Church and the public library.
Participants and their families can enjoy music, entertainment, massages, games and a complimentary barbecue on the RMMS grounds. Unique gift baskets donated by friends, students and businesses will be raffled off after the race.
New this year is the Taste of the Area, featuring free food sampling from Souhegan Valley restaurants. This event is co-sponsored by the Brookline Economic Development Committee.
Registration on the day of the event will be from noon-2 p.m. at RMMS. You can register online at www.jordanswalk.org.
The donation for runners is $25 before the event and $30 on the day of the event. The walkers, team or virtual pledge amount is $10. Information on how to “sleepwalk,” form teams or request matching gifts is also available on the website.
All proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire.
