Adventure5K to defend title

Adventure5K is back and looking to defend its title of “best adventure race,” an honor that was awarded to the team in 2012 by the Best of New Hampshire.

Adventure5K is again looking for runners who are ready to push themselves to the next level and endure the obstacles of the race.

There are more than 450 runners registered for the 5K, scheduled to take place June 1, at Liquid Planet Water Park & Zip Lines in Candia.

The Adventure5K organizers are pleased to continue their partnership with CrossFit Tuff and work with them to deliver another challenging race for runners.

“It is a pleasure to be working with the owners of CrossFit Tuff once again,” said events manager Kimberly Lencki. “With the feedback we received from participants last year, the experience we gained from hosting two races and the new ideas we have for the course – we are looking forward to seeing some muddier and more exhausted runners cross our finish line this year.”

Events administrator Christina Hendricks said racers should expect the unexpected at this year’s race.

“While participants might have the advantage of running the property last year, they will be pleasantly surprised by the tricks we have up our sleeve for the new course,” she said.

The Adventure5K team will be working side-by-side with CrossFit Tuff to create even more challenging and fun obstacles on the course.

Adventure5K organizers expect to see more than 1,000 runners and more than 2,400 spectators on race day. Wave times are filling up quickly, with two are already closed.

To register for the race, runners can visit www.adventure5k.com. The registration pricing is discounted the earlier runners sign up – the price is $60 through Feb. 28.

NH.com will be fundraising for MooreMart, a Nashua-based nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing comfort to troops serving abroad.

Adventure5K is a 3.1-mile run with an exciting obstacle course within the race. Athletes of all abilities are welcome.

Each run is different, challenging participants to think on their feet, push themselves and tackle obstacles before them. Break out of the normal 5K road race, push yourself to experience something new, and celebrate after with music, food and beverages.
