Virginia E. Meuse

MILFORD – Virginia E. Meuse, 83, of Milford, died Aug. 25, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Malden, Mass., on July 28, 1926, a daughter of the late Ralph and Marion (Perkins) Eaton.
Mrs. Meuse was raised and educated in Malden, Mass. She graduated from Malden High School, class of 1944, and Malden Business School in 1945.
She had been employed by the Boston Office of General Electric Co. for 10 years.
She married Henry J. Meuse, Jr. in November of 1951. They made their home in Malden until moving to Hollis in 1955. While residing in New Hampshire, she had worked for Doehla Greeting Cards and the Hollis Elementary School.
Mrs. Meuse enjoyed reading, traveling, camping and had taken several Elderhostel college courses. She also was a volunteer at Hollis Elementary School and St. Joseph Community Services for many years.
She was a member of the Nashua Senior Center and Milford AARP Chapter No. 1235.
Mrs. Meuse was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford.
Family members include her husband with whom she would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in November, Henry J. Meuse, Jr. of Milford; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Stephen J. Meuse of Nashua, Robert and Lorraine Meuse of Candia, Kevin and Susan Meuse of Litchfield, four daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and James Dargie, Maureen and Gerald Lussier, all of Milford, Christine and Paul Phaneuf of New London, Marybeth and Christopher Giovanni of Easley, S.C.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Eaton of Sarasota, Fla.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Raymond Campbell of Felton, Del., Ruth and John Learned of Topsfield, Mass.; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Friday, Aug. 28, from 4-8 p.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm St., Milford, NH. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst St., Milford. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Amherst, N.H.
