Thomas C. Evans
Thursday, December 24, 2009
MILFORD – Thomas Christie Evans, of Milford, was born Feb. 19, 1954, in Montague, Mass. His soul passed into the Spirit World Dec. 8, 2009. Unable to obtain affordable medical care to treat his condition, he finally succumbed to coronary artery disease.
The third child of Edward Merritt Sr. and Margaret Robare Evans, of Greenfield, Mass., Thomas is well remembered by his family and friends as an intelligent, humorous and engaging member of his family and community.
A 1972 graduate of Greenfield High School, he earned his associate’s degree in liberal arts at Greenfield Community College in 1976. He loved acting and appeared in several Arena Civic Theater productions. For most of his professional life, Tom was a licensed plumber and a trained IT technician in southern New Hampshire. His interests included his pets, fishing, geology, ecology, martial arts and history.
Mr. Evans leaves behind a grieving family: his son Christopher Tyler Evans, of Brookline; brothers Edward Merritt Evans Jr., James Richard Evans and Daniel Paul Evans, all of Greenfield, Mass.; and his sister, Ellen Margaret Tenney of Saxton’s River, Vt.; as well as many nieces, nephews and their children in San Francisco, Colorado and New York.
A private memorial service is to be held by the family at a later date. Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm St., Milford, is handling arrangements.
