Brookline Public Library book and bake sale Saturday, May 3

Friday, May 2, 2014

BROOKLINE – The Friends of the Brookline Public Library have put everything in motion to produce a big bang of a book and bake sale from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 3.

The sale will be held at Brusch Hall, 36 Main St., and Legion Hall, next door, with a two-bucks-a-bag special from 2-4 p.m. On sale will be hardbacks, paperbacks, DVDs, CDs, puzzles and other items.

This sale supports the library’s summer reading program, museum passes, part of the weekly music program and other purchases not covered by the yearly budget. The Friends have put the call out to local groups and individuals to assist with moving furniture and books to the point of sale and back to storage. Sign-up sheets are at the library. For more information, call the library at 673-3330.

The Friends also provide a wing-ding of a bake sale with quick breads, yeast breads, cookies, cupcakes, brownies and whatever other delectable goodies the bakers of Brookline are inspired to provide. The sign-up sheet is also at the library.

For more information, call Jodi at 673-1417.
