Practice bus run for Hollis kindergartners, first-graders
Friday, August 15, 2014
HOLLIS – Kindergarten and first-grade students and their parents are invited to participate in a practice bus run on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
This event is designed to help children learn the routine of riding the bus and to communicate bus safety rules before the first day of school on Wednesday, Aug. 27.
The buses will leave the garage at 8:30 a.m. to begin their routes. Bus routes take about 20 minutes to complete, and parents should wait with their children at their designated stop. The buses will depart the school at about 9:15 a.m. to begin the trip home.
Please note that no siblings, older or younger, may ride the bus on Aug. 26. Parents can choose to send a child on the bus without an adult, but the bus driver will not drop off children without a parent or guardian waiting at their stop. No backpacks or school supplies are needed for this day.
The practice bus run is sponsored by the Hollis Woman’s Club, and the event is coordinated by the Hollis Elementary Parent Teacher Association.
